Skating Fun

Sass and Grand Papa are having a grand time with her first skates. She enjoyed being spoiled and 'driven', or should we say, chauffeured around the ice! Savannah also enjoys yoga (she knows many moves), dancing, and her little sister!

Veetnam!

Savannah so looked forward to coming to Viet Nam, or as she so cutely calls it, Veetnam! She's certainly been the most amazing traveller, doing well on the loooong plane ride, adjusting well to the 12 hour time change, and to her new crash pad at the hotel. Couldn't ask for a better two year old, that's for sure! And despite the occasional tears that are perfectly normal in adjusting to such a life-changing experience as becoming a big sister instead of an only child, she is truly stellar in her new role.

Here she is, touring around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi, and helping to bathe her sister.

Happy Hallowe'en!

Our little chipmunk just loved trick or treating, at least, until we got to the house with the chainsaw recording. Then, it was game over!

My Little Genius!

Our little genius knows left from right, her colours, numbers to 20, how to count on her fingers, and how to run the show here. We love her to pieces!

Garderie Amusante!

Savannah absolutelyh LOVES her daycare. She does such fun things there. Every day, she returns with 2 'couettes', and often, with crafts, and a big big smile. And of course, her 1st face painting!

Foop Woops and Happy Campers

Savannah has discovered the joys of Foop Woops!

Our happy little camper just loves the outdoors, and she's such a joy to camp with! It's fun to see nature's wonder through her eyes, and to enjoy the little things that could so easily and inadvertently be taken for granted.

She and her Papa have a blast together!
By the way, for you, our loyal blog followers, here's a link that'll be of interest. Check it out!

Butterfly Terror

Unbelievable how time flies - it feels like this blog was just updated, but it was months ago! Savannah's grown so much, in mind and body, and socially. We can have little conversations now, and get meaningful answers to our questions of her. Fun!

We went to Niagara Falls for Vanessa's dance competition (she and her team did very well - bravo!), and Savannah loved the waterpark at the hotel. What she didn't like? The butterfly, who landed on her stroller, and then, oh terror of terrors, on her trusty green 'tat'! oh NO!!!

Luckily, she's ok now. Phew! Here she is, watching her Baba pop bubbles with his bubblegum. The hilarity is priceless!

And she sure knows how to have fun, dancing with Maman in our 'twin' rainbow threads. Waaaay cool!

Two!

Our little girl is 2! Unbelievable how fast times flies now that Savannah's here. She celebrated a great birthday with tante Elaine, Nanna, Poppa, Grandpapa, and of course Grandmaman. Her 'under the sea' cake was fantabulous!

Savannah sings a ton of songs now, including "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in Mandarin and English, Frere Jacques, Le tournesol, ABC, and a few others. She strings together long sentences, and sure can let the world know what she wants.

Grandpapa's ("Papapa's") Little Gem

Sassy just LOVES taking her nightly bath. Of course it probably helps that every bath is accompanied by a call to Grand Maman and Grand Papa, and, lately, a popsicle! The hairwashing isn't her favourite thing, so we get it over quickly and move on to playing with her millions of bath toys (all of them were shower gifts, and she loves 'em)!

Our Petite Coccinelle- Gotcha!

Savannah's 1st Hallowe'en in Canada was pretty neat. At the tail end of a nasty bout with H1N1 'flu (or as I sometimes call it, the effing plague), she was well enough to go get some delicious loot at a few houses. She looked positively adorable in her coccinelle outfit, and she KNEW it! She lilted and danced and bounced and twirled in it. What a card!

Can't believe it's been a year since Gotcha Day! Wow! Time sure flies a lot faster on this side of the referral, that's for sure! Savannah has really thrived in this time, and continues to amaze us with her new tricks; she's started saying 2 word sentences last week, and I found a long pencil scribble-line on my kitchen cabinets today! Hmmm! Lots of fun!

Colourful Character

Savannah totally loves pulling red and yellow leaves off the trees, walking through huge leaf piles, and just being outside. As long as Maman and her trusty thumb are nearby, all's well!

Fall is a Fantabulous Season!

A little brisk air doesn't stop these two from having fun. In fact, Fall is one of the greatest times of all, with its rainbow of leaves (which 'Vannah likes to pull from the trees, and sometimes, taste test), crunchy walks, pungent forests and unique bluest of blue skies. What could be better?

One Year Ago...

Hard to believe that 1 year ago today, we first saw Savannah's photo. When we awoke that morning, we didn't know if she'd even be a girl, how old, where from, or how totally cute! It feels like forever ago, a lifetime ago! How she's grown, and how she's brought such bright cheerful sunshine (that's the definition of her Chinese names) to our family. We're grateful!

Summer Fun

Dancing queen... Best buddies, sharing a popsicle...
With Grand Maman and Grand Papa at Big Oak Park... Sliders' dream...

Pensive princess...

Savannah loves going 'dehors', playing in the grass, on her swing and slide set, putting rocks into the red bucket Nana Carolyn and Papa Dave bought her, swimming in the lake, and going for wagon rides. She chats up a storm, and says over 70 words. She certainly runs the show, and knows how to get people to do what she wants. Hmmm! Good thing she's so sweet!

Ahhh, Summer!

First swim ever, Mew Lake, Algonquin Park.

The after-camping-lawn-mowing expedition!
Can't wait to go camping again - hope to see Josee and Tracey and gangs! Should be a blast!

Happy Camper

Savannah just loved her first camping trip, as did we! Despite some rain, hail, and even snow, she enjoyed the whole thing, sleeping well in her meshed-in bunk, and seeing squirrels, ducks and chasing a partridge. She sampled dandelions (mmm!), dipped her foot in the lake (brrr! and a few tears), and went on miles of stroller rides. On the weekend, Christy and Tessa visited, prompting even more laughs and fun!

More Savannah!
