Tons of Work!

We've been spending the last 1 1/2 years preparing for Savannah's arrival. This is the mountain of paperwork we had to prepare. So many people helped us complete the required forms:

-friends, family, supervisors(letters of reference)

-physician (exam),

-police (police and Interpol clearances),

-adoption practitioner (tons and tons of forms and info)

No stone left unturned...That part took us from immediately after our first Children's Bridge meeting in April 2005, to summer, when our adoption practitioner could finally start our home study, through half a dozen visits with him, finishing in November 2005.

Then, the whole package got translated into Chinese by Children's Bridge. Neat to see one's life story in beautiful Chinese characters! All was mailed to China on January 9th 2006, and registered in China on February 9th 2006. It is this latter date upon which all that comes ahead will be based. Hope it's a lucky one for us!
