Rick got the call at 0905 this morning!!! He called me at work to let me know the details about 15 minutes later. Three photos followed by email about an hour later (a very long hour: good thing I had some work to do to keep me sane!).

So, here's the scoop!

Savannah Liang Xiao Ling was born January 27th 2008, which makes her 7 months of age. That's very young for China! She is at the Liangping SWI in Chongqing County, Sichuan. She has been in this orphanage since very soon after her birth. She is described as a healthy, happy baby. Her medical exam on July 23rd showed her to measure 64 cm in length, and 6.8kg of weight. More information will follow on Friday or Monday, when CB finishes the translation of her file.

It was a blast to see and hear friends' and family's reaction to our news, at work and at home. I wore a Chinese blouse, as planned: I'd told my pals that when they saw me with it, that was the signal that our referral had happened.

We had a Chinese dinner (of course!) to celebrate, at the Tignanellis. And we made countless calls, and received a bunch also. Savannah already has such a cool fan base!

We are over the moon. It's hard to believe how much we can love someone before we really even know her, but we do. She's so cute, with her intense little eyebrows, big cheeks (like her Dad's!), her serious mouth, her big inquisitive-looking eyes. Our little sweetie! We already love her to pieces!

How awesome is that? We are so happy for you both. Seriously, she is just the cutest little thing ever. Her eyebrows are so sweet! I can't wait to see her in person. The kids (and Mike and I, of course) were thrilled to see her picture. We have been thinking and praying for her for so long. Beautiful.

What an exiting day! Had to stay close to the phone and computer in case there were updates.
