Well, we've made it to Beijing! The city is huge (population 16M), very modern, pleasantly green (lots of trees along highways). We have a decent hotel room, despite the "Bert and Ernie" beds (read: no double bed, only 2 single beds side by side). Everything seems well organized: our travel guide is excellent. Not only has she answered all our questions without our having to ask, but she also gave us some information on Beijing and its history, organized a dinner, and checked us into our hotel rooms. Today, we cabbed around the city to a big shopping district. Spent money.

Tomorrow (Sunday) morning, we leave early to fly to Chongqing. Less than 48 hours before we meet Savannah!

We hope everything is going smoothly ! We were surprised to hear it is green, I guess we were thinking many buildings, many people = concrete!
I bet you guys are so thrilled to be there with such helpful people.
Can't wait for next post.

Hey, I posted a comment earlier today however I don't think it worked... so glad to hear that you made it, safe and sound. Cool pics! Can't wait to see more. It is pretty neat to see your counter on your blog indicating 1 day until Gotcha Day. Wow!
Tomorrow will be amazing.
